The MYCO MED Story

What started out as a curiosity in Mycology, grew into something way bigger than what our founders could of ever imaged. We went from helping ourselves, to helping friend’s and family. Word spread like a network of mycellium and so did the powerful benefits of our mushrooms. Since then we have had the privilege of helping many people with our products, now it’s YOUR turn!

Our Story

In the year of the great stillness, 2020, when the outside world felt off limits, life as we knew it was turned upside down. For one of the founders, this unexpected change was an opportunity in disguise. Laid off from his job and stuck at home due to the pandemic, he decided to further explore his interest in Mycology — the study of fungi. Through experimentation, this hobby blossomed, opening his eyes to the healing potential of mushrooms.

He began microdosing and found it eased his ADHD and lifted the clouds of depression. Though there was much uncertainty swirling, the mushrooms brought mental clarity and a sense of calm. He was amazed by the mushrooms’ restorative effects, not just for himself but for others he shared them with.

His friend, heading to work one morning, was nearly killed in a terrible accident. After multiple surgeries, his body began to stabilise, but depression threatened as potent pain medications took their toll. He suggested microdosing mushrooms, having experienced their restorative effects firsthand.

It was through these profound experiences that their passion for mycology grew into a driving purpose in 2023. They knew that the mushrooms’ potential to nourish our mood and lift our outlook was a gift that could help countless others.

Over time, they have dedicated countless hours to studying how certain fungi can truly make a difference. Today, Myco Med’s product range and educational resources aim to help consumers discover the remarkable benefits that mushrooms can offer.

Is the Lion's Mane dual extract?

No, our lions mane Capsule contain 100% activated Lions Mane powder. Don’t be fooled by the marketing gimmicks of capsule dual extracts, they contain fillers such as Maltodextrin and other starches which is why some companies claim to have such high polysaccharide percentages. Dual extracts serve a purpose, but as a tincture. There are also non soluble polysaccharides such as Chitin which are super beneficial, helping to improve glucose levels and gut health.
